The Warrant.

What it is

A Warrant is a commission. You name the piece — maker, model, era, finish. We hunt it on the next Midwest drive. When found, Marcus inspects, documents condition, and sends you photos alongside a retail price. Agree on the price, and the Subject enters restoration. It is delivered with its collector card engraved in your name and a scheduled first-year Attendance.

The $2,500 retainer underwrites the search — travel, dealer-network outreach, and sourcing time. At The Find, 50% of the agreed retail price is due before restoration begins. On delivery, the remaining balance is due — with the $2,500 retainer credited against it. See full terms below.

Once a quarter, Marcus and his daughter cross the Midwest. The next drive lands in Ketchum in July. Name your Subject before we leave.

How it works
  1. Submit your Warrant with the piece you seek.
  2. Marcus confirms the commission. You pay the $2,500 retainer — underwrites search and travel.
  3. The piece is hunted on the next quarterly Midwest drive.
  4. The Find: Marcus inspects, photographs, and sends you a retail price. 50% is due to proceed.
  5. Restoration and documentation complete. Card engraved in your name.
  6. Balance due — less the $2,500 retainer. Delivered with your first-year Attendance scheduled.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Lords of Lorne Warrant?
A bespoke commission to source a specific mid-century Subject on your behalf. You name the piece — maker, model, era, finish, any particulars. We hunt it on the next Midwest drive, assess and restore it at The Keep, and deliver it with a collector card engraved in your name.
How does the Warrant process work?
Submit your Warrant with the piece you seek. Marcus confirms the commission and you pay the $2,500 retainer — this underwrites search, travel, and outreach. The piece is hunted on the next quarterly drive. At The Find, Marcus inspects the piece, photographs it, and sends you a retail price. If you agree, 50% is due before restoration begins. On delivery, the remaining balance is due with the $2,500 retainer credited against it. Every Warrant delivery includes a scheduled first-year Attendance.
Payment terms — how does the three-stage structure work?
The Warrant runs in three payments. Stage 1 — The Retainer: $2,500 at commission. Underwrites search, travel, and dealer-network outreach. Held against the final balance. Stage 2 — The Find: 50% of the agreed retail price, due when the piece is located, inspected, and confirmed. Restoration does not begin until this clears. Stage 3 — Delivery: the remaining balance, less the $2,500 retainer, due on delivery. If Lords of Lorne has not delivered the Subject within six months, the Custodian may: (a) continue the Warrant for an additional six months at no cost, (b) redirect the Warrant to a different Subject, or (c) receive a $1,500 refund — the remaining $1,000 covers documented search and drive expenses. Either party may withdraw in writing before the next drive.
How long does fulfilment take?
Standard fulfilment is 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the timing of the next drive. Expedited sourcing is available for an additional fee, subject to availability. Clients who issue a Warrant before a scheduled drive receive priority on that run.
What if Lords of Lorne can't find my piece?
The Warrant rolls to the next quarterly drive at no additional charge. If the Subject is not delivered within six months — two drives — the Custodian may continue at no cost, redirect to a different Subject, or take a $1,500 refund per the terms above. The 50% Find payment is only ever triggered once the piece is located and you've confirmed the price — so if nothing is found, that payment never applies.
How specific can my Warrant be?
Entirely specific. Maker, model, era, wood species, finish, condition preferences, dimensions — anything that matters. The more precise the brief, the more targeted the search. That precision is the point of a Warrant.
